19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet saved 4 initial chances in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
